More than a year ago, the movement called #MeToo began, an initiative where hundreds of women were able to express their discomfort about the sexual abuse or harassment they suffered at some stage in their lives.
This movement has already been replicated in Mexico. Now with a Twitter account called Mexican #MeToo, several people have denounced their attackers, especially in the journalistic world, in music, in literature and among others.
One of the first people identified in this movement is Efrén Barón, guitarist of the Mexican rock band División Minúscula, who was accused by at least six different people of harassment, sexual abuse and attempted murder.
Those affected claim that the guitarist sent them explicit photos and videos of himself, inviting them to have sexual conversations with him.
One of the victims says that the musician France Mobile Number List sexually abused her during a party when she was asleep. The rape happened in the guitarist's house, when the victim woke up and realized the rape, Efrén only apologized and said that he "had misinterpreted things."
Another testimony is from one of his ex-partners, who accuses that the musician tried to murder her in a hotel in Monterrey.
“Efrén and I broke up due to his constant violence, infidelities, sick jealousy, and attempts to control my life,” his testimony reads.
This woman also reports that Efrén's violence was such that on one occasion he beat a pet they had to death.
Following this situation, the rock band said on its Twitter account that it had made the decision to separate the guitarist from the group.
“As a group, Minúscula Division we are against all disrespectful, harassing or violent behavior. With the recent accusations against Efren, we have decided to separate him from the band. We are really sorry about all of this and we hope it is resolved in the best way,” they express in the publication.
